Are there any rats in Ireland?

I have heard the story of how St. Patrick drove the rats out of Ireland. Is it true that there are no rats in Ireland? If so, what is the real story as to why there are not any rats in Ireland?Are there any rats in Ireland?

No it was defiantly Snakes not rats!! we learn about St. Patrick every year were i come from so i should know!! lol!! and yes there are rats in Ireland just like ne we=here else but your obviously not going 2 see them running around the streets its not that bad!!!! lol! :D
