Why are my baby rats squeaking?

I have a lone male rat and I have just bought to male babies to give him some company. Both cages are on the floor and I let my adult rat run around the floor. When he first saw the babies in the cage he hissed and tried to lunge at them. Now both seem interested in each other but one of the babies came out of his hammock and went down to see the adult and started squeaking at him. He didn't look scared and he didn't run away but just began this high peeping sound. Anyone know what it means? Why are my baby rats squeaking?
i think he is trying to socialize, he could be letting him know he wants to play or he could be saying 'your big and scary and i don't no what to do' just keep watching their behaviour.

also take them all into the bath and let them socialize there because that has neither of their scents, also clean out his cage and wash everything inside it so that it doesn't hold either scent, also if you put them in his cage he will fight them because at the moment it is his terratory and not theirs so he will defend it.

i hope this helpsWhy are my baby rats squeaking?
oooh that was silly! if theyre babies the big rat might try to attack them, especially if he's used to being on his own! you shoulda got ones a similar age and introduced them carefully. and the high peeping sound means he IS scared! 2 of my little boys do that when they see my big fat man rat coming. theyre kept in different cages and even when they all play in my room together the big rats dont hurrt the little ones but 2 of them just get scared and go 'EEEEEH EEEEEH EEEEEEEH!' as if theyre being mutilated lol but the other rats arent even touching them lol
maybe the baby rat wasn't squeaking at him. but if your baby rat was then it was probably because he was scared.

i have two rat and 1 of them squeaks when she does not recognize some one, maybe that is whats up with your baby rat.

then my other rat squeaks when you pick it up in the wrong place and she will squeak until she will be put down and then she will squeak the cage alot if no ones in the house and it is lonely
The baby recognizes the size of the larger one and it reminds it of its mother, but it knows it isn't its mother, so it's upset because it wants its mother
Theyre pissed that theres no girl rats around!
rats squeak to each other when they want to kill the other one the baby rat wants the adult one dead so it can eat its colon for protein just swing it around by the tail to confuse it into thinking its won the fight.
