Why do people always joke that curly hair is a ';rats nest'; or poodleish?

i always get made fun of for this by my friends and guys at school, even though my curly hair isnt frizzy,i take care of it, i dont have split ends and i actually style it. they say their kidding when they say this but it really hurts . gosh, straight hair isnt the prettiest thing ever either!

Because some people just dont get that there are other hair styles to wear besides the same old straight. I think curly can be super cute depending on how the person wears it so dont listen 2 them becuz straight isnt always nice and wont always be and this is becuz the more and longer that people will wear their hair straight, sooner or later they will get tired of the same thing and the hair style will soon be played out...just like tattoos
a rats nest is in my opinion that huge scene hair with all that teasing and hairspray.


but people can have their own opinions, let your friends say whatever they want. if you get tired of it just tell them what you just said in your question.
