Is it alright to have two different litters of rats in the same cage, with both mothers in that cage aswell???

i have 2 litters of rats now, one litter is nearly 2 weeks old n the other is three days old... if they all get put in the same cage will the mothers still develop thier babies properly, and will the mothers get along... or would it be better to seperate them???Is it alright to have two different litters of rats in the same cage, with both mothers in that cage aswell???
If the mothers got on well BEFORE they got pregnant, I don't see any reason for them NOT getting on well AFTER having babies. They might even help each other with babysitting.

If the mothers are complete strangers, I'd suggest asking this question at the following message board: http://www.goosemoose.com/component/opti鈥?/a>Is it alright to have two different litters of rats in the same cage, with both mothers in that cage aswell???
If the mothers had been ';friends'; before, I don't think that there would be any problem. Mother rats often act as surrogate mothers towards the other litter. If one mother wants to just take a break, the other mom will look after her own, and the other litter as well.

They should be fine, I would even recommend it, it causes less stress symptoms in the new moms.

Just make sure the cage is big enough to hold as many babies and the two moms!
