How can i get my rats to be less nocturnal?

Get them out in the daytime more :)

It doesn't take them long really to learn to adapt to your routine if you are consistent. How can i get my rats to be less nocturnal?
Contrary to popular belief pet rats are not nocturnal. Wild rats have a tendancy to be nocturnal as a measure of safety for their daily foraging. Pet Rats don't have the problem of being preyed upon and so they have adjusted their sleeping habits.

Pet Rats are crepuscular, this means they are asleep off and on throughout the day and night, being most active at dusk and dawn. Their domesticated sleeping pattern allows them to easily adjust to your schedule and it's also the reason why rats don't get cranky when you wake them up. They don't get into the same deep sleep that hamsters fall into during the day.

Lots of info on the subject:

Just play with them a lot durring the day time, and especially in the afternoon, let them get a good play so they are tired when they go back so they can take a nice long nap through the night. At night, dont disturb htem, have it quiet in the room so they can sleep.
All you really have to do is make it routine for them to get up during the day, play with them bring them out and keep them active.

If you keep doing things like this you shouldnt really have much of a problem changing their schedule.
