I have this small/ medium carrying cage when shes in labor should I put her in there till the babies r old enough to be seperated or keep them in a 20 gallon cage!?Do you want a big or little cage when you breed rats?
if the cage is a wire cage and the spacing between the bars is smaller i'd suggest leaving them in there. there's much more airflow that in any gallon tank. i'll always suggest keeping them in cages with wire bars instead of tanks because of the airflow issues.
and then yes, keep mom and her babies in there until about 4 weeks when you can wean them. by then the babies should be eating regular food anyway, but watch them just in case.
